Salonika correspondent of the newspaper Le Journal writes: "There is no longer any possible hope of assistance from any Balkan State, but if we wish to fall back to Salonika we are sufficiently strong to withstand all attacks. All we can do now is to hold on there. If once we abandon the port we will never get it back." The newspaper Echo de Paris states that preliminary steps were taken this week for the suspension of exportation from France to Greece. Earl Kitchener and Sir Edward Grey have arrived in Paris and are conferring with the Government
