CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
The council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce met yesterday afternoon. There were present: Mr. E. Anderson, president, Messrs. G. L. Peacocke, L. J. Bagnall, A. C. Stevenson, John Keid, E. C. Browne, and A. B. Robert-on. Two new members, Messrs. G. L. Thorburu and A. A. Martin, were elected members of the council and took their seats. The chairman reported that he had attended the meeting of the executive of the Association of New Zealand Chambers of Commerce held in Wellington on November 16. The resolutions proposed by the chamber were unanimously adopted by the executive, and it was decided that the Wellington representative of the executive should arrange an interview with the Prime Minister at an early date and place the suggestions before him, together with the recommendations of other chambers which touched on matters in this connection not covered by the resolutions recently | adopted by members of the Auckland | chamber.
