Wilson* Las approved of the proposal of the Minister for War for the increse# of the army at a cost of £36.000.090 sterling. The Navy Department is asking for , forty millions sterling for additional bottleships. A large portion of the army expenditure is intended for coastal batteries aid defences. sj? Mr. Garrison. American Minister for War, propose? the increase of the standing army to 120,000, a trained reserve « 300,000, and a reorganised national guard of 150,000 men. Aeroplane equipment | and the doubr&g of artillery ammunition [ are also included in the scheme. '
