HOCKEY.
BERNECKER CHALLENGE CUP. RETAINED B-Y OMAPERE. The ladies' challenge match for the Bernecker Cup was played at Remuera on Saturday afternoon, the contesting teams being- Omapere (holders) and Technical College (challengers). The wet conditions hampered play, but nevertheless the game was interesting throughout, the winning score being secured by Miss Baker only a lew minutes before time. The challengers showed good form, but indifferent shooting robbed them of success. By this win Omapere retains the cup for another twelve months. Mr. R. a. Parton was referee. SCHOOL TOURING TEAM. The Auckland primary school representatives returned from Rotorua on Saturday afternoon after a successful and pleasant trip. The boys enjoyed every minute of the tour, which proved all too short, and speak in glowing terms of the treatment meted out to them by. the officials of the Rotorua Hockey Association and others. Both matches against the Rotorua school team were won. the first by 5 goals to 0. and the second by 6 goals to 0.
