TIMELY ARRIVAL OF EIGHTH AUSTRALIAN CONTINGENT
TROOPS NINETEEN WEEKS CONTINUOUSLY UNDER FIRE.

Sydney, September 17. Cabling from the. Dardanelles. Captain Bean, the Commonwealth war correspondent, says that the arrival of the eighth contingent from Australia was most welcome help to the men at the front. It enabled part of the Australians, after 19 continuous weeks under fire in the trenches, to obtain a little relief.
