FRUIT AND PRODUCE MARKET. Business in the fruit and produce markets during tie week has been much ' better than last. Although local fruit is j scarce the volume has been made up with shipments from Fiji and Sydney. The demand for choice local apples is good and prime lemons are also selling welL Fiji bananas arrived to a good market, and Sydney mandarins and oranges sold at high prices. The first shipment of Canadian apples is due by the Makura on Monday next, and a good demand is expected. The potato market is much firmer, and stocks are low. 'Frisco onions are moving off slowly. Locals are in bad condition. New potatoes are selling very well, with plenty of inquiries. Farmers' butter and fresh eggs remain the same a3 last week. FIELD PRODUCE. PROPERTY SALES. A land sale was held by Messrs. Samuel Vail© and Sons, Ltd., yesterday at their auction rooms, when several properties were disposed of. A large residence fronting Hobson Street with a section 28ft by 75ft -was sold for £1000. A house of six rooms facing Prospect Terrace, Mount Eden, standing on a section, 55ft by 96ft, realised £.600. A section, 60ft 9in by 184 ft, in Victoria Street West, was passed in, the bidding not reaching the reserve.
