" Practical Patriotism " writes to suggest that if there is a real scarcity of farm labour, teachers might offer "their services to farmers during the summer holidays. He says the teachers would thus render valuable help to their country, benefit their health, and acquire much practical experience. The suggestion is quite a good one, from the teacher's point of view, or from the point of view of anvbody who -wants a good bracing holiday. It is indeed conceivable that such holidays might become quite fashionable if the farmers did not drive their temporary hands too hard. Perhaps some farmers may think it over, and make the experiment. They should have no great difficulty in securing the necessary "labour."
