AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP. , The second semi-final in the amateur billiard* championship attracted * large attendance to the rooms of the Amateur Sports Club last evening. Much interest was taken m the meeting of the Dunedin player with the local cueist. .F. Goodhew. This visitor, who is a strong losing hazard player. and has pat up some fine scores in amateur contests in Dunedin, particularly in Crystalate Cup tournaments, m not in beat form. Goodhew proved very consistent, missing nothing; easy, and being well favoured by the run of the balls, won a well-played same by 41 points. Break?—Goodhew: 25. 25, 22. 35. and 27 : average 6.33. Biedeberg: 20. 32, 34. 36. 24. 36. and 28: aver**© 5 88. The final game of 1000 up between E. TV. Warren and F. Goodhew will bo commenced this afternoon at three o'clock, when 600 un will be played. The match will be concluded in the evening, play commencing at eight o clock. After the game the gold medal will be presented to the winner, and at the same time E. Burke will receive tha Crystalate Gun and cold medal recently won in the Crystalate Cud tournament. Opportunity will also be taken to auction a, Stevenson cue and case presented to the club by Messrs. Alcpck and Company, Ltd the proceeds 5 which are to go to the Wounded Soldiers' Fund.
