SUNKEN SUBMARINES.
GREAT NUMBERS LOST. Paris, September 8. Describing his visit to the Grand Fleet, M. Rene Bazin, the wellknown writer and a member of l'Academie Francais, says that he learned by various means that the British had struck such a powerful blow at the German undersea fleet that though still able to annoy, it cannot secure a definite decision, for its losses are too heavy. The British have sunk great numbers of submarines, while French torpedoboats have accounted for others.
