The students of Bast-en's Commercial Training College gave a promenade concert in the concert chamber of the Town Hall, last night, the object being to collect books and magazines for distribution to local forts, training camps, hospital ships, troopships and military hospitals. Many gifts of boots and magazines were brought to the Town Hall during the evening and these will be handed over to the Women's Patriotic League for distribution. Prior to the concert, Mr. A. G. Lunn delivered an address pointing out the necessity for helping the returning wounded in every possible way. The programme was contributed to by the following : —Misses Blanche Spears," Olive Potter, Rosa Sachs, R. Wilson, G. D'Audney, Emily Brown, B. Sandford, Muriel Brown, Lyla Hurle, and Messrs. T. W. Brough, James, J. W. Cumming, C. Perfect, and Masters Lewis, S. Edwards. G. Campbell arid R. Slavell. Selections were given by Adeano's orchestra.
