LAND AGENTS' AGREEMENTS.

A JUDGE'S STRICTURES. ~ far TELEGKAPH.— COKEESPOSDENT. I Wellington, Thursday. The Prime Minister lias been asked by Mr. Jennings (Taumartmui), whether he will take action in connection with a remark by Judge Hosking in the Supreme Court, 'Wellington, on Saturday last, as follows :—" It is a pity that there is not some legislation about these - agreement* that land agents concoct, and in which they put clauses that are traps to the unwary."

AUCKLAND WORKERS' HOMES. The member for Eden, Mr. C. J. Parr, has given notice to ask the Minister for Lands whether, in view of the necessity of making further provision for workers' homes nea.* the City of Auckland, he will acquire for such purpose the property of Mr. H. Smyth, containing about 200 acres, at Henderson.

LAND IN NATIVE TOWNSHIPS. Mr. W. H. Field (Otaki) has given notice to ask the Native Minister whether, in the event of the beneficial native owners of native townships, under the Native Townships Act, 1895, being desirous of selling these township lands at prices satisfactory to them, the Government will purchase tho native interests in such lands, with a view to selling the freehold to lessees desiring to purchase, or -by 'some other means place the lessees in a position to freehold their holdings, and thus encourage them to build upon and improve them.
