PLOTS IN AMERICA.
SENSATIONAL DISCLOSURES j GERMAN EMBASSY INVOLVED. (Received August 17. 1 30 p.m.) London, August 16. The New York World declares that it has obtained possession of correspondence proving that a leading German official and GermanAmerican financiers are implicated in attempts against the United States laws. The German Chancellor, If err Bethmann-Hollweg, participated. It is estimated that Germany has spent 2,000,000 dollars weekly for propaganda purposes. The Providence Journal states that the United States Government possesses overwhelming evidence against the German Embassy officials, including a bag of documents belonging to a German secret service agent- The German intrigues include passport frauds, the dynamiting of factories in Canada, the fomenting of strikes, plots against British warships, and attempts to poison horses and mules. The plots involve the United States and Mexico.
