GERMAN LOSSES IN BALTIC NAVAL ACTION.
LARGE CRUISER BELIEVED TO BE SUNK. (Keceived August 15, 5 p.m ) London, August 14. Reuter's correspondent, states that it is unofficially reported in Petrograd that in the naval battle near Ossel Island, north of the Gulf of Riga, on August 12, a large German cruiser -was destroyed and several German warships were damaged severely. It is surmised that the enemy's purpose was to " bottle up " the Rlssian fleet in the Gulfs of Finland and Bothnia.
