SUNK BY SUBMARINES.
SEVEN MORE SHIPS.
FOUR DAYS IN THE BOATS.
(■Received August 15, 6 pjn.) London, August 14. The Glasgow steamer Cairo (1671 tons) and the fishing smack Amethyst have been sunk by a German submarine. The crews were saved. A message from Copenhagen j states that the Danish barque Morna has been sunk. The crew were landed safely. The Grimsby trawler Thrush was sunk by a submarine. Her crew were in the boats from Monday to Thursday, and were terribly exhausted when picked up. The steamer Summerfield (687 tons) was also sunk, the chief engineer, chief officer, and the latter's wife being drowned. The British steamer Jacona (2969 tons) and the Norwegian steamer Hura were sunk.
