STOCKS AND SHARES.
BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY. The sharemarket was quiet again yesterday. In standard stocks Bank of Now Zealands (fully paid) were looked for at £16, but sellers asked £16 12s 6d. Union Bank of Australian were offered at £52, and buyers quoted £50 at the first and second calls. There was inquiry for New Zealand Insurances at £5 9s, but sellers held for £5 12s. Waihis changed hands at 38s. Talismans were available at 20s 6d, and buyers were prepared to give 20s. Sellers quoted Waihi Grand Junctions at 225, and bujers quoted 21s 9d. AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.
