WOUNDED WARRIORS RETURN HOME.
From the very outset of the tram journey from Wellington to Auckland it was evident that the passing of the Red Cross train was not only expected but awaited by residents of the towns and .settlements en route. Stations flashed by as the train sped onward, and with the flash would rise and speedily fade away the sound of cheer,. These greetings from unseen friend. «ere continuous throughout the night. During the dav time largo crowds were *een assembled on the platforms to cheer the Auckland "boys" as they passed homewards. Details of the pictures shown are as follows .-1. The crowd at Te Awamutu ereetin* the soldier heroes. 2. The guard of honour which met the men at the Auckland railway station last Fridar on arrival of the special train. 3 The enthusiastic welcome of Cambridge, Hamilton, and surrounding district, at Frankfm Junction. 4. Quartermaster-Sergeant. V. C. Florey, Railway Engineers, who was wounded in the shoulder. 5. Interior of the special hospital carriage, showing the wounded lying snugly in the bunks. 6. Pukckohe joins in the warn greetings 7 * halt at one of the stations. 8. Te Kuiti ladies giving fruit and chocolates to the home-coming soldiers.
