EAST COAST RAILWAY.
CONNECTION WITH ROTORUA. NOT FAVOURED IN TAURANGA. [BY TELEGEAPH.—OWN COERESFOXDEST.] Taubaxga, Wednesday. Delegates representing railway .interests in Rotoroa and on the coast arrived in Taoranga yesterday to seek support for a combined movement in favour of the more rapid construction of the line down the coast and connection with Roterua. The visitors "were met in the evening by representatives of the Katikati and Tauranga public bodies, and a lengthy conference "was held, the matter of railway communication being discussed from all points of view. A resolution was carried by the local representatives in favour of pushing on the original East Coast Trunk Line scheme, with a connection with Waihi, and the completion of that before making any connections or deviation, however desirable they may be, ay additions to the initial general scheme when completed.
