FRENCH PROGRESS IN LORRAINE AND ALSACE.
TRENCHES WON ON HEIGHTS OF METISE. FURTHER ADVANCE IN THE SOUCHEZ REGION. Wellington, June 21. The High Commissioner reports from London on Juno 21 :- " in fee sector north of Arras the French are masters of Fond de Buval (Buval Bottom). An attack in the direction of Souchez resulted in progress of thred-fifths of a mile. " In the Argonne a violent attack by the enemy has been repulsed and some prisoners taken. On the heights of the Meuse two enemy lines were carried and 70 prisoners captured. -'. \ " The French arrived near Reillon, in Lorraine, a centre of resistance.
