Melbourne, June 21. Mr. Anstey, -addressing a member jester- s day, explained "that ( his resignation was due the fact that he was muzzled and ' 'chained 'by the. caucus like a dog in a kennel. [He claimed that the Government had failed to safeguard the people by ' keeping down'the prices of food. Mr. McGratli has withdrawn his resignation. *'.-., ■ I' ! Mr. J. Cook, Leader of the Opposition, commenting on the' proceedings in the House when there was a scene, said:— It furnished aT"? painful ' Australian war chapter. Although, spurned, repudiated, and insulted by the Prime Minister and the Attorney-Generaj, we try to do our duty in. this'crisis.-.. As we have been challenged,. we may call {attention to matters of vital importance ' wherein the' Governments has failed to realise the opportunities and responsibilities of the 1 situation." . • ' • '&?;
