Replying to the suggestion that the working classes should be given an opportunity to share in the war loans, Mr. McKenna said he did not endorse the doctrine that money was no object, in the war. If that idea got abroad they might expect contractors to raise their prices and Government workmen to ask higher pay than that paid for private work. They must remember that the resources of the country were not inexhaustible.
