BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.

The sharemarkot was quiet yesterday. Bank of New Zealands (fully paid) were looked for at £17 15s, sellers asking £17 178 6d. Union Bank of Australia stocks were quoted by buyers at £56 10s. There was strong demand for New Zealand Insurances at £6 3s and £6 4s 6d, but sellers did not offer.

In mining lines Wailiis sold at 38s 6d and 38s 9d, sellers asking 39s at tho closing call. Two transactions in Talismans were effected at 21s 6d. Sellers asked 23s 9d for Grand Junctions, and buyers offered 23s 6d.
