THE DRESDEN'S PIG.

A member of the crew of one of the British warships which destroyed the German cruiser Dresden writes, in the course of an account of tho brief fight: "By tho way we have a pet now. One of our ship's company dived overboard and saved the Dresden's pig. It's tho only prisoner of war we have on board. About two hours after the Dresden had sunk the pig was seen swimming near our ship. Since its stay on board it has' developed a. beautiful appetite, eating coal with great gusto. Some wouldbe wit attributed the frequent coaling of the ship to this cause.
