BELGIUM'S ORPHANS.

NEW SOUTH WALES HELP.

"I am more than pleased at the generosity of the children of the State schools," declared the New South Wales Minister for Education, in a brief reference to the Children's £10,000 Fund.

"We thought, when we asked for £10,000, that, in view of the heavy con tributions which had been made during the previous week for the Belgian Fund, we were asking for something move than wo would got, but the response has been simply magnificent. Already we ha'-« leceiverl over £22,000, and we will prob ably reach the twenty-five thousand mark. I am making arrangements to have the fund snecially earmarked as a gift from the children of the public schools of New South Wales to the little orphan children of Belgium. Whether the money will bo distributed in England to the large number of Belgian children who have been brought there or in Belgium is a matter which has not yet been decided upon.''
