TURKS DISCUSS PEACE.

NO HOPE OF SUCCESS.

PROPOSED ATTACK ON ITALY. (Received May 31, 7.35 p.in) Paris, May 30. The correspondent of Le Temps at the Bulgarian port of Dodeagatch reports that after Italy's declaration of war the Young Turks held a council of war. The. attitude of Enver Pasha, Minister for War, was severely criticised by the majority, who declared that a prolongation of the struggle promised no success. They pointed out that Turkey could have made peace a few months ago and k?pt Constantinople under certain conditions. They could even now have peace and keep Smyrna. Enver Pashf interrupted the talk by declaring that the allies would never offer acceptable terms after their enormous losses at the Dardanelles. Turkey's only salvation was to throw in her lot with Germany, whose submarines seriously embarrassed the allies. _ Enver Pasha proposed to create a diversion by attacking Italy.
