Mr. Lloyd George presided over a meeting of the Munitions Committee, which included Ear! Kitchener, the Marquis of Crowe, Earl Curzon, and Mr. F. Handel Booth.
Mr. Lloyd George is not relinquishing his residence as Chancellor of the Exchequer at 11, Downing Street.
The High Commissioners for New Zealand and Australia, and the Agents-General bade farewell to Mr. Lewis Harcourt, late Colonial Secretary, at the Colonial Office. They stated that they all regretted the breach in their relations, which had been most cordial and agreeable.
The Paris Journal des Debats, in opposition to the majority »if the French papers, says that the question of compulsory service in Britain is not of practical importance now that there are over 2,000, ViO volunteers. Perhaps a greater number could not be utilised. A m ire urgent reform is the "militarising" of women for the making of munitions.
