MEETING OF AUCKLAND
EXECUTIVE.
A meeting of the Auckland Rugby League was hold in the League Rooms, Shortland Street, hist evening. Present: Messrs. E. Benson, chairman, C. Baker, A. B. Cummins, W. Fellows. J. Endcan, K. McDonald, R. Tatton. N. D. Culpan. (treasurer), and R. A. Spinley (secretary). The chairman proposed, and it was carried, that a vote of sympathy be accorded the secretary, Mr. R. A. Spinley, in the loss he has sustained by the death of his mother. .... Mr. B. Brigharn wrote stating that as he had not applied for the removal of his disqualification he did. not want the league to interest themselves in the matter. The St. John Ambulance Association wrote asking for a list of matches. They stat«l they would make it their business to Be present. , .„ , , The Richmond Rovers Club notified the league they had secured a playing-ground at Richmond, at a cost of £3, and asked the leaguo to meet the expense. The request was granted. The Junior Advisory Board requested that, as money and valuables had been stolen from several players' clothes at \ ictoria Park, each room be locked during play. It was decided to seo what arrangements could bo made with the park-keeper. The following transfers wero recommended by the Junior Advisory Bo»rd:-Kus-sell from Ponsonby to City, and Chapman from Otahuhu to Rcmuera The Ponsonby delegate objected to Russell's transfer as it n,s'case of a player endeavouring to become a member of a strong team. Newton Rangers granted » transfer to Hogan to "lay ,or the Thames Old Boys, but objected to a transfer to Schofield, as his services were required for the senior team It was decided to grant a transfer to both parties, it being stated that Schofield was standing on the line on Saturday last, and that he had not been asked to play by NewtonOn the recommendation of the chairman it was decided to reopen the question of Harper's disqualification, the. request being made by the Referees' Association, As a notice of motion was necessary, the matter will not be dealt with for a fortnight. Mr. R. Benson proposed, and it was carried, that a suggestion be forwarded to the. New Zealand Council to remove all disqualifications from thoso who have gone to the front. . . , Tine following are the allocations of grounds for Saturday: -North Shore v. Newton, at Devonport; City v lWnby at Victoria Park; Grafton v. Otahuhu, at OtaTho* Newton Club registered P. W. Gardner, a senior player, from the other code, , r - !
