Mr. H. W. Brabant, of Napier, who has been on a visit to Auckland, left for the South by the Main Trunk express last night, Lieutenant-Colonel H. E. Pilkington, Adjutant-General to the New Zealand forces, will arrive on a visit to Auckland to-day. Dr. B. J. Dudley, of Epsom, has been offered a commission in the New Zealand expeditionary force, but owing to private reasons is unable to accept it. Lieutenant-Colonel C. H. inner. ot Wellington, who has been on a vwt in Auckland, was a passenger bv the southern Main Trunk express last night. The Prime, Minister, the Right Hon. \V. F. Massey. has accented the position ol hon. colonel of the First Regiment of the New Zealand National Reserve. The Hon. W. H. Hemes Minister for Railway.!, and Mr. E. H. Hilev Oneral Manager, paid an official visit to the North Otago di.-itriel yesterday. They will visit the northern part ol the district to-dav, and go north this afternoon t< Timaru. , Colonel J. K.
