RUMOURS IN ITALY.
REPORTS ABOUT PEACE. London, April 22. A despatch from Rome says that within the last 24 hours persistent reports have arisen that the grave international questions confronting Italy may be solved in the near future by what at first sight seems incredible—the conclusion of general peace in Europe at no distant date. The reports are intangible, and it cannot be at present ascertained that they have a definite source. They are reflected in high quarters and are given hoed to by careful observers of international politics. In certain quarters in Rome the idea prevails that the advent of spring has not seen as much of tho resumption of aggressive hostilities as was promised, and the fact is re-1 garded as significant.
