WOMAN FALLS DOWN CLIFF.
SAD LYTTELTOX FATALITY.
TRAGIC END TO FAMILY WALK. [Br TELECBAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION*.] Chbistchurch, Sunday. A distressing occurrence happened on ,he shores of Lyttelton Harbour this norning, whereby Mary Elizabeth Kilick, 38 years of age, the wife of Edward (iillick, "residing at Lmwood, met her ieath Mr. and Mrs. Killick and their four Mdren left Taylor's Mistake at 9.30 a.m. md walked over to North west Hay. After gathering some wood they started to climb the cliff, Mrs. Killick having a stick in her hand. Her husband asked if she required assistance, and as she complained of tho steepness of the ascent tie was in the act of assisting her, when she missed her footing, and fell down the Jiff. distance of 200 ft or 300 ft. The husband descended to the shore, i Q d found Mrs. Killick was still alive. He returned to Taylor's Mistake, on tho way communicating by telephone with Lyttelton. When Sergeant Ryan, Dr. Newell, and another would-be 1 rescuer reached' the spot in a launch. they found Mrs. Killick dead, her skull being fractured, in addition to other injuries.
