NORTHOOTE'S AFFAIRS.

A SOUND POSITION. The balance-sheet of tho Northcote Borough for the year ended March 31 has been prepared by the borough treasurer. In the general account receipts amounted to £1432 13s sd. Last year's debit balance was £405 7s lid, which, during the year, was increased to £1398 5s 7d. The hospital and charitable aid account showed a debit balance of £4 14s 9d, while the sanitation account closed with a slightly decreased debit of £42 16s 7d. Contractors' deposits to the amount of £47 are held by the council. The water maintenance account started the year with a credit of £135 Os 4d, which was increased to £255 10s 4d.
