AUSTRALIAN PROSECUTIONS deceived April 2, 730 p.m.) Melbourne, April 2. The first prosecutions under the War Precautions Act have taken place. A publican was fined 40s for posting a false report in the front of his hotel that the Runic had been torpedoed in the Channel with Australian troops aboard. Other defendants were fined 20s each for spreading the report.
