STUBBORN FIGHTING RENEWED IN THE ARGONNE.

VILLAGE CAPTURED BY THE ALLIES. OUTPOSTS IN ACTION ON GERMAN FRONTIER. Wellington, April 2. The High Commissioner reports from London, on April 1:—" Paris reports constant activity in the Argonne, particularly between Four de Paris and Bagatelle. On Tuesday night the allies took 150 metres of trenches, making prisoners. The same night the enemy bombarded the trenches they lost on Tuesday at Bois le Petre. The enemy counter-attacked at daybreak with several battalions, and succeeded in regaining some ground, but were dislodged at eight o'clock. "At Parroy, a French village east of Nancy, near the German frontier, fighting between outposts resulted to our advantage. Mine warfare along the front between Dompierre and Perone continues. The allies exploded a German observation post north of Berry-au-bac, on the Aisne. " The prisoners taken in the Boise le Petre fighting numbered MO. All the German counter-attacks were repulsed. A battalion of Landwehr, attacking in the region of Depaieroy, were repulsed with heavy loss. " West of the Bois le Petre, the allies occupied the village of Defeyehaye, holding the position despite several counter-attacks."
