ANOTHER DINGHY MISSING.

TWO MEN ON BOARD

SEARCH PROVES FRUITLESS.

Two young men, who left Heme Bay in a dinghy at 8-30 o'clock yesterda/ morning, with the intention of rowing to their camp at the mouth of Henderson Creek, are reported to be missing.

The youths, William Wagh. aged 21' years, warehouseman, and Charles Sherer, aged 20 years, carpenter, were fellowboarders at No. 12, Wallace Street, Ponsonby. They set out from Tibbs" Beach, with their boat heavily laden, having to row some eight miles against wind and tide. The dinghy carried a sail, but the wind was unfavourable for its use.

In the afternoon, fellow-boarders of the two campers became alarmed at the nonreturn of the pair. It was thought that they would immediately return to Ponsonby on meeting with such bad weather. A launch was secured, and a party searched the camp at Henderson Creek, finding no traces of the campers or their dinghy.

Members of the search party stated that during the rain squalls, very heavy teas were running. The dinghy, they considered, ran grave risks of being swamped. The police were not informed of the matter until late last night.
