BRIDGEGROOM OF A WEEK.
A few weeks ago sporting men, and particularly the racing fraternity, were showering their congratulations upon Mr. Gordon Mills, of the Coldstream Guards, who had snatched a faw days' leave from the trenches of Flanders to slip over to England and marry Miss Madge Slowburn, to whom he had been engaged for a ion"* time. Soon after the wedding Mr. Mill! crossed to Fiance again and rejoined his regiment in th firing line. Later came the tragic news that the bridegroom hart laid down his life for hie country, and the wife of a. week is a widow to-day Deceased was a son of Mr. Charles Mil* the well-known sportsman, and th widowWide is the daughter of one of the turfs most celebrated bookmakers, Mr. H&rrv Slowburn. '
