Iho weather was dull but the wicket was good Casey of Southland, won the toss and decided to bat. A total of 228 runs was made, a feature of the innings being the batting of Poole who compiled 77 Ramsden and Crawford divided tho bowling honours, tho former securing four wickets for 63 runs and the latter five for 60.
