CLOTHING FOR THE POOR. DISTRIBUTING THE GIFTS, [from our OWN correspondent.] London', February 16. At the request of the High Commissioner for New Zealand, the New Zealand War Contingent Association has formed a committee for the distribution of the warm clothing and blankets despatched from New Zealand to the High Commissioner and to Lord Plunkct for the relief of the British poor and the Belgian refugees. The greatest care baa been exercised to ensure that tho relief should only be given in deserving cases, and in every instance tho gifts hfcvo evoked expressions of gratitude. On hearing of New Zealand's generosity, large numborß of applications for assistance were received from various charitable organisations, and among those to whom help has been given are the Salvation Army, tho Church Army, Friends of the Poor, Women's War Club, ministers of all denominations in the poor parishes in England, Scotland, and Ireland.
