THE QUARTER'S FIGURES.' WELL ABOVE AVERAGE.
Dißl-vc, the month of March the rainfall recorded in Auckland totalled 7.27 in, or J.s7iri above the average for the month. During the fir=t quarter of the year a total of ll.OOin of rain fell, the average for the period being exceeded by 2.35 in. The fall (or last month closely approaches tho heaviest fall ever recorded in March, which was 8.12 m in 1905. The heaviest fall on any one day in the month just closed was 1.79 in, on March 23. run fell on 15 days, nine being consecutive.
