PEOPLE'S FIRST DUTY. Sidney, March 31. Mr. A. Fisher, Federal • Prime Minister, when interviewed regarding the Imperial Conference, said that during his visit to New Zealand he found a feeling in favour of holding the conference this year, but the people did not dare to criticise the action of the British Government- Nothing had since happened to alter his previous opinion as to the utility and advantage of holding the conference during war time, but he recognise*! that it was the people's first duty to support v the British Government in any action they might deem wise in a time of stress and trial.
