NEW GERMAN BOMB.

The Hermans are employing an extremely powerful explosive bomb which the French have christened ' bottle of champagne.'' It has been so christened because it is of cylindrical shape and is of the size of a champagne bottle. It is supposed to be filled with liquid air or liquid carbonic acid. It can bo thrown 300 yards by mortars without great initial velocity, and makes a hole in the ground 40 inches in diameter and 30 inches deep.
