RUSSIAN PLANS FOR INVASION OF EAST PRUSSIA.
IMPORTANT TURNING MOVEMENT NORTH OF TILSIT. DIVERTING THE ENEMY FROM THE WESTERN FRONT. Times ,and Sydney Sun Services. (Received February 2, 7.30 p.m.) London, February l. The Times' correspondent at Petrograd states that exceptional interest attaches to the Russian operations north of Tilsit, in East Prussia. Evidently the Russians' plan is to outflank the' German position in the Masurian Lakes region to the south, and over-run East Prussia, The strategical purpose of the new move is to divert the Germans from the Western .front, and also from the Polish and Galician theatres.
