Photographs of the New Zealand troops in Egypt form the feature of the issue. These depict the men at various occupations in their camp on the desert, near Cairo, route matches across the sandy wastes, their inspection of the Pyramids and Sphinx, and a tour through Cairo. Two splendid views of the New Zealand camp and one of the Australians' quarters also appear. The many fine war pictures include views of a French battery shelling a German position, a British cemetery in France, Bel gians repairing a road half-covered in snow, British troops wearing goatskin overcoats as protection from the cold, scenes in the flooded district? in Flanders, the ruins of Pervyse, a French soldier praying before a roadside cross, a British airman flyirg at Rheims, and a snldiep collecting shell-cases on a French battlefield. -Two striking views of H.M.S. L on, leader of the British squadron in the North Sea engagement show the full length of the vessel and her enormous guns. Portraits appear of her commander, Vice-Admiral Sir David Beatty, and of Commodore Tyrwhitt, who had charge of the destroyer flotilla. Despite the bad weather on regatta day in Auckland, many excellent yachting snapshots were secured, and some of the best of these are reproduced in a picturesque full page. The numerous other illustrations include views at the Trentham volunteer camp, a rifle meeting at Palmerston North, London's women police force, the New Zealand trader Tokomaru, sunk in the English Channel, the formal opening of Myers Park, Auckland, Duke Kahanamoku, the famous swimmer, in Sydney, scenes on board a British battleship at sea, and a destructive fire at Dargaville.
