NEW CLUB AT WHANGAREI. CHAMPIONSHIPS AND WAR. fBT TZLKCILiPH. —OWN" CORRESPONDENT.] Christcttcrch, Monday. 'At a nicotine: of the committee of the NewZealand Boxing Association a letter was received from the- Northern Association 'Auckland) that it wa-- in favour of the aifiliatioa of the newly-formed association at Whajis;arei, provided that some other name than North Auckland was adopted. The council secretary wa6 instructed to suggest that the new association should affiliate under the name of the Whangarei Association Correspondence was received from the chairman of the Hawke's Bay Association with respect to the annual conference and the Nuw Zealand championships for 1915. The conference held at Wanganni last July had recommended that the events be allotted to the Hawke's Bav Association. The- chairman -wrote that his committee was prepared to give effect to the wish of the conference, but desired to know the feeling of the. council as to the advisability of holding the conference and the championships in view of the great affairs which are affecting the Empire. The council agreed that, in its opinion, it ■would be well to abandon the. functions for the year, but that a definite decision in the matter was beyond its powers as #he matter could only" be dealt with by the council appointed 'at the annual meeting
