Wellington', January 20.
The High Commissioner's office cables from London on January 19: Paris reports state that at Arras the allies' artillery repeatedly silenced the enemy's batteries amid a snowstorm. There was a very lively action in progress at La Boiselle when, as a result of the conflagration, the allies were obliged on the night of the lTth to evacuate position which at daybreak were retaken. The enemy's attacks have not been renewed.
North-west of Pont-a-Mousson, on the Lorraine frontier, the allies carried another earthwork at Bois la Pretre, where 500 yds of the German trenches are now occupied. Snowstorms are general.
