The fighting at Soissons is reported to have had a great effect in German military circles. The resumption of the offensive against Franc- is strongly favoured by Field-Marshal von Falkenhayn, von Moltke's successor, who advocates a great effort in the Argonne and also in the Oise Valley. Important changes along the German front have commenced.
