Hughes, Commonwealth Attorney-General, that if the Icter-Stat-e Commission find*, that the Wheat. Acquisition Act was ultra vires, the New S-.i'th Wales (iovenunent shall pay for the wheat shipped to New Zealand the price ruling in Victoria on the day of seizure, the Kaiapoi will now be released.

At a meeting of wheatgrowers to-day under the auspices of the Farmers' Union, the following motion was carried : ''That the. Government be asked to remote the restrictions on the price of wheat as far as the farmers of New Zealand are concerned, the meeting considering that the Government has full control of the situation by having power to import wheat."
