STOCKS AM) SHAKES.

BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.

The sharemarket continued firm yesterday, and a fair amount of business was transacted. In Bank of New Zeaiands (fully paid) a sale was reported at £16 10s. and there were further sellers at £16 15s, ■without buyers offering. Auckland Tramways (ordinary) were dealt in at 21s 3d, while Northern Steamships (paid up) were sold at (14s 3d). In mining lines strong inquiry existed for Waibis, the shares being sold at from 41s 6d to 41s Sd to 42s to 41s 9d to 41s 6d, leaving further buyers at 41s 3d and sellers at 41s 6d. A transaction in Talismans was effected at 28s 6d, and later sellers quoted 295, and buyers 28s 3d. There were buyers of WaiHi Grand Junctions at 24s 3d, and sellers at 24s 9d.
