FATE OF THE CREW.

London, January 18. Tut Admiralty patrol tug Char had a hole driven into her side in getting alongside the steamer Erwan, which was damaged. The Erwan was unable to help the tug, which filled rapidly with water. The Deal lifeboat, for !'2 hours, searched in a hurricane, but was unable t:> find the Char. It is believed that she has drifted on to the Coodwins, and that her crew of 17 are lo.st.
