FRENCH LOSSES IN MONTH.

Amsterdam, January 17.
A communique from Berlin states that during the four wce.;s since General Joffre published his general order to attack, the French have lost 26,000 dead, 17,860 prisoners, and 107,000 wounded, exclusive of sick without a substantial advantage having been gained. The Germans have lost only a-quarter as many in the same period.
BOMBARDMENT OF SOISSONS
HOSPITALS NOT SPARED.
(Received January '"8. 11 p.m.) Paris, January 17. Refugees state that the German bombardment of Soissons spared neither ambulances nor hospitals. Seventy-five shells struck the cathedral.
