DESERTER ARRESTED.
LEFT ATHENIC AT ALBANY. [BY TELE CPS ATE.OWN COREESPONDEXT.] Chkistchtech, Saturday. Two detectives arrested a man in Christchurch yesterday afternoon on a charge of deserting from the New Zealand troopship Athenic at Albany. The man is said to have walked 300 miles, between Albany and Fremantle, and then to have gone on to Sydney and worked his passage to Lyttelton. He was sent to Wellington last night, to be placed in the detention camp.
