THE PRICE OF BREAD.
INCHKASE ANNOUNCED
Ax increase in the price of broad to 4}d per 21b loaf was made by a general meeting last evening of the Auckland Master Makers' Association. The higher price, will be charged from to-morrow. During the past- two years bread has been sold in Auckland at 4d per 21b loaf, but in that, period the price of flour has advanced £2 10s per ton. and, even bv employing the most economical methods, bakers are unable, they state, to manufacture bread at 4d per loaf from flour which costs £12 15s to £13 15s per ton.
